Vintage Wood Turned Canister Storage Container with Bark Edging ~
Possibly made as a humidor jar for storing tobacco~Very Unique~Handcrafted
Up for your consideration is a vintage turned wood handcrafted container storage jar.
A one of a kind piece.
This handcrafted wood jar is made from a cutting from a section of tree. This unique piece possibly was made as a humidor jar. If that interests you, you can add a small round humidifier disk under the lid to keep the tobacco moist.
It has the traditional bark edging on bottom rim.
The lid has a rubber ring that secures the lid to the jar.
There is a wonderful wood grain around on this piece.
Measures
: 6 ¾” tall x 5” diameter on the bottom
Condition:
This vintage wood piece does show some wear on the wood surface. The finish on the wood has lost some of its gloss. The bark on the bottom shows some loss of bark. It is a solid piece and the tops seals nicely on the jar. I do my best to describe the piece and it uses, but I am not an expert.
This is a
nice folk art wood and bark piece. Some call this style “weird wood”. This container is a unique piece to display and use.
