Vtg GERMAN Pottery Humidor or Tobacco Jar VALKYRIE Dragon's & Dragon Slayer

Description

This is a ceramic earthenware tobacco jar/pot in the German style and research suggests it is from the 1930's. The pattern depicts a warrior on horse back slaying a dragon with his lance (on both sides)- this could also by English but I am leaning towards German. The background is dark blue and the patterns are all raised. The patterns are floral surrounding dragons and the primary motif of the slayer on horse back. All horizontal edges as well as the lid are picked out in 24K gold and the gold is in almost perfect condition.
There is a chip under the lip of the main jar which leads to a hairline crack running down the side. The crack can hardly be seen from the outside and the chip is hidden by the lid. The condition is reflected in the asking price.
Dimensions: 7 5/8" high with the lid on; 5 1/2" high with lid off; 4 1/2" diameter at the base; 3 3/8" diameter at the rim. Liquid capacity is 900ml (30 fluid ounces).
