Here's a nice vintage
Parker 51
stainless steel fountain pen and mechanical pencil set in a Parker 51 case with a pale lavender interior.  The pen features gold filled trim and "jewels".
The pen and pencil appear to be in very good condition.  The pen was definitely used at some point.   There are no dents or noticeable scratches,
but there
are
numerous very fine scratches
from normal use.   I made no attempt to remove the ink cartridge and I assume the pen will have to be taken apart and cleaned.  The ribbed interior strip on the inner cartridge that is pushed to fill the pen with ink appears undamaged and there is a cartridge in the pen.
The pencil is the push-button type and the lead feeds out smoothly with strong spring action.
The "51" box is in good, average condition with mild corner damage and badly stretched elastic holders.  The bottom liner is not removable and there is no compartment under it.

because I have no idea what needs to be done to refurbish the pen.

I am adding a picture to show the pen's nib.  It is very fine and small and appears to be in good condition.  The black line on the right side of the nib in my image was just ink - not a crack - it was easily removed.
