A Leather Wrapped Glass Humidor Tobacco Jar, Italy, c. Mid 20th Century. This Tobacco Jar would look exceptional while displayed in an array of interior styles - Perfect for an avid pipe (or cigar) smoker. The interior glass jar is wrapped in an Italian leather outer layer - This is none removable. Each leather panel is woven to one another, showing a metal lions head motif center ormolu mount. The top lid includes its original rubber gasket for an air tight seal, it fits upon top as it should. Under the top is a small sponge which is recessed into the wood bottom. You can drip distilled water onto the sponge area to keep a humidified environment for your tobacco. The underside is marked Italy.
Condition:
This Tobacco Jar is in good condition, it was exceptionally well made. Surface scratches, blemishes and flaking is shown to the leather from age - This is all shown in our photo gallery to reference.
