    Description

    VINTAGE ANTIQUE WOODEN BOX WITH HANDLE
    Possibly a humidor? No liner.
    Box has a strong odor--discussion below.
    Dimensions
    : 7 1/8" wide x 3" high (not including handle) x 4" deep
    The
    base
    /bottom is split the length of the box. Please see picture.
    The
    underside of the lid
    has (what I presume) is a label; it is stained so much that nothing can be seen and is tattered.
    The
    odor
    : I can't identify it but I suspect it is the result of many years of storing cigars or maybe pipe tobacco? I simply don't have the experience to say what it actually is. It was purchased at auction with a number of cigar boxes.
    The
    hinges
    are quite rusted.
