Welcome to Parallels Desktop® for Mac, a Parallels virtualization solution, bundled with the products that help you protect and manage your Windows guest operating system, as well as migrate computers with a Windows or Linux OS to virtual machines.
Parallels Desktop® 6 for Mac enables you to create virtual machines on most Intel-based Macs. You can install a Windows®, Linux®, or other operating system in each of your virtual machines, and work with them and their applications side by side with your Mac OS X applications.
Parallels Desktop for Mac includes the following products for your Windows and Linux operating systems:
- Acronis® True Image Home 2010 for Microsoft Windows
- Acronis® Disk Director 11 Home for Microsoft Windows
- Parallels Transporter® Agent for Microsoft Windows and Linux
Hardware Requirements
- Any Macintosh computer with an Intel processor (1.66 GHz or greater). To run 64-bit operating systems in virtual machines, an Intel Core 2 or higher processor is required.
- Minimum of 1 GB of RAM (2 GB RAM recommended)
- About 500 MB of disk space on the boot volume (Macintosh HD) for Parallels Desktop installation.
- About 15 GB of disk space for each virtual machine.
