    Product Description:
Listing Update...I've had some customers ask me to compare these shoes to the Italian-made Atala Sport cycling shoes we also have available. I may be splitting hairs here, but I would probably give the nod to these Belgian-made Kendaroy shoes. The quality of the leather uppers and the reinforced outer wooden soles with rivets that hold the shoes together appear to move these shoes slightly ahead of the Atala branded shoes in terms of fit/function. Again, I do not believe the differences are significant, but if I was forced to chose between the two brands, I would probably lean towards this offering.
    Original listing...
This offering is for new-old-stock Kendaroy cycling shoes. Our best guess is these Belgian made shoes are fairly old...maybe 70's or possibly early 80's vintage. They are an all leather model with soles that also appear to be part leather with an outer wooden plate (all of which is riveted together for stiffness). There is no padding in the soles...so just a fitted leather sole that is anchored to to the wooden plate with adhesive and rivets.  Note the three rivet holes at the front of the shoe are not covered on the inside, so it's possible your toes will feel these holes in the toebox. I don't know that this presents any real functional problems, but I still wanted to note the observation. You will also notice from the pictures the shoes are not pre-drilled for any cleats, so will require tack-on model cleats that are anchored with small nails. We do not have the cleats for these shoes, so please understand this (the cleats) will be something you will need to acquire elsewhere. We have noted other vendors carry various tack-on style cleats that should be compatible with these shoes...so they are out there and available. We will also attempt to source some of the cleats as well and make them available in our store, but for now we just have the shoes.
In terms of sizing, they are a size 39 (Euro). Although, for those not very familiar with European sizing (and please include us in this group), we measured the outer dimensions of these shoes using our digital calipers and noted their length was (252 mm or 25.2 cm) and their width...at the widest part of the toebox...was (85 mm or 8.5 cm). We also scanned a few shoe sizing/conversion charts and noted that while cycling shoe manufactures size their shoes somewhat differently, a size 39 (Euro) typically translates into a men's size 6 to 6 1/2 or a women's size 8 1/2 (or a youth size 7).
As for condition, these shoes are new-old-stock and still retail boxed (although the box is not much to look at).
Listing Update...The age of these shoes means the adhesive that binds the outer sole to the genuine leather upper will likely fail at some point. A few customers have indicated this to be a problem, but a relatively easy fix with the application of some new adhesive. Other customers have taken the shoes to a shoe repair shop to have this work done, and the prices have ranged between and (to re-glue the shoes back together). So please understand these shoes will require some attention (given their age) at a later date. This also explains why we are now selling these shoes below our cost (and listing them as "new with defects").

Note to international customers regarding shipping...
We apologize to those that feel some of our international shipping charges are too high. We only charge actual shipping rates, but once an order exceeds a certain amount, we hesitate to use the least expensive US Postal Services First Class International service. We feel this way, because this service is not trackable or insurable...so more risk of loss. We prefer the US Postal Services Priority Mail International service for more expensive orders, because this service is trackable at USPS.com and insurable...so less risk of loss. Unfortunately, this service is more expensive, especially for smaller/lighter packages, relative to the First Class International service. We are sorry about these higher shipping costs, but hopefully our notes help to explain why this is the case.
Note to international customers regarding customs...
We also apologize to those that feel their country import taxes, duties and brokerage fees are excessive. As a small US business, we are required by customs' laws to declare each order as a retail sale. Additionally, the declared order value must be equal to total store purchases and/or winning auction bids (less any shipping costs, as these are not considered in the declared value). As a result, each customer will be responsible for paying his/her own country taxes, duties and brokerage fees, which will be collected upon delivery. Again, we apologize for these additional costs, but we cannot afford the penalties and fines that come with breaking customs' laws...so we have to strictly abide by them.
