Description
SCARCE vintage ART DECO Picture Frame from the 1930sMade by KENSINGTON - the defunct art and giftware department of ALCOA
Designed by famous modernist artist Lurelle Guild
Rather large size measuring overall 13 1/4" high x 10 1/4" wide - view window is about 10 1/2" x 7 1/2"
Features Triple Stepped Sides with over-lapping applied Triple Brass Squares at corners
Slide out velvet covered back-board with hanging ring and easel prop stand (the prop hinge has an old riveted repair and cord - the original silk ribbon holder rotted away from use and has been replaced by a cord - see photos)
Metal frame itself is in Very Good vintage condition with a little age tarnish and a few surface scratches - could use a good clean & polish
Top back rail is stamped 'Kensington' and has the Stag Head and K Shield logos
