A strand of 34 carnelian / red agate beads, carved in the Chinese/ Tibetan melon style. The age wear, patina, and carving workmanship suggests that this necklace may be very old. The individual beads show characters of the "horse brain" patterning seen in classic Chinese "ma nao".
