Description
For small bibelots, collectibles or its intended content, pipe smoking paraphernalia: a handsome (probably English or American) pipe cabinet!Popular from the late 19th century, this one either hangs on a wall or sits stably on a tabletop. Nice square proportions keep it freestanding. Made of nice oak components put together in a qualitative woodworkers' manner, with two folding wings for 3 pipes each.
Designed in an Arts and Crafts style, it has a top shelf, side wings, a glass oak door and an interior shelf, for a tobacco jar perhaps. Top shelf allows 5-3/4" clearance, lower is 2-1/2". About 4.5" deep.
9" wide with pipe wings extended. Nicely patinated pierced brass banded top rail echoes the small tooled brass knob and false-key escutcheon.
