Antique Glass Jar Wet Cell Battery for telephone ?
This battery’s glass jar is aqua in color. There is a round spot in the glass made at manufacture where a label must have been placed. There are no cracks though there are some chips on the ground rim. See pics. The rim has a pour spout and the battery insert top is similarly shaped. The porcelain conductor appears to be intact, the connecting screw is present and some wire is still attached!
The jar measures 7 3/4 inches tall and 4 1/2 inches in diameter.
The bottom has what looks like a G and a backward 3 or a stylized E
I have been told this was used to power a telephone at one time.
