Antique English Oak Porcelain Tobacco Jar Humidor Box .

Description

Up for sale is a wonderful handmade antique lidded tobacco jar.
It is hand made from a hardwood (
English oak
) and has a high sheen finish. The lid, handle, shield, scalloped top rim and base rim are brass. Beautifully detailed lid finial is brass and wood and measures 1 1/2 inches high.
The inside is lined with a white porcelain bucket, which unfortunately has a crack (see photo).
It measures 6 inches tall without measuring handle by 5 3/4 inches wide.
Condition is sturdy, as the wood base piece has been replaced. There is a split where two pieces of wood were mounted together in the rear, which is merely the typical, natural shrinkage of wood which occurs over exceptionally long periods of time.
