    Description

    Up for sale is a very rare antique 18th century handmade tobacco jar from Pau France.
    it's tooled by hand out of a thick brass material and nicely dovetailed together.
    there is a shield on the front depicting "Urbis Palladium and Gents" the safeguard city and nation from Pau.
    on the back is also a lovely design, all of the relief detailing is truly superb and it's signed by the craftsman under the shield.
    it has a wrought iron handle which pivots on the jars arms, a skirted foot, and a tight fitting removable lid.
    the interior is lined in a silver toned material and measures 8 1/2 inches tall by 7 inches wide without measuring the handle.
    in great condition.
