    Description

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Fabulous Restored 1940 Parker Vacumatic Senior Maxima Double Jewel Fountain Pen in the Golden Pearl Celluloid. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.
The NIB, Feed, Section, and Breather Tube have been ultrasonically cleaned. I replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Gold Filled Blue Diamond Split Arrow Clip, Chevron Cap (///\\) Banding, 14K Parker 2-Tone NIB, and bottom tassel. I have cleaned, buffed, and polished the barrel, cap, and blind cap to bring back the vibrancy of the fountain pen and to protect the celluloid. This Parker Vacumatic is a Senior Maxima that measures 5 3/8" capped and 6 1/8" posted.
This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The Golden Pearl color is simply beautiful with vibrant Golden Pearl color. The cap has the Blue Diamond Split Arrow Gold Filled Clip with the Chevron Cap Banding displaying no wear. The top and bottom jewels are striped to match the cap, barrel, and blind cap of the fountain pen and have been polished to a high shine. The barrel is stamped with, "GEO. S. PARKER PARKER VACUMATIC with the MADE IN U.S.A. with date code 0 (for 1940) in the 1st Quarter". The barrel transparency is good, albeit it does have heavy ambering. The blind cap securely fits. The cap and barrel are free of any personalizations or monograms.
This Parker Maxima Vacumatic retains the correct "Speedline" filling unit that was produced for 2nd Generation Vacumatic and works flawlessly. I have tested the filling mechanism with water and fills as it should. The Speedline Vacumatic Filling System works great, typically in my tests with water about 10-13 presses to fill nearly full. I have greased the filling unit so it operates smoothly.
This Parker Vacumatic has a near perfect 2-Tone NIB 14K Gold with a medium point that measures .68mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample with this NIB, it writes with a fine to broad stroke/line. In the writing sample provided, the stroke/line ranges from .52mm to .93mm with firm pressure when measuring with digital calipers. The nib writes very smoothly and is such a pleasure to write with. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink.
This Parker Golden Pearl Senior Maxima Fountain Pen doesn't get much better and has stood the test of time of 71 years. This Parker Vacumatic Senior Maxima has high-line features such as the celluloid is vibrant and looks incredible, has the striped jewels, clean trim, and the gorgeous 2-Tone Nib that writes very smoothly. I would consider this Maxima to be in Excellent Condition. It is ready to write or just add it to your writing arsenal collection.

    Please Read Carefully Before Bidding:
I strive to find unique and difficult to find pieces that I believe will capture the attention of collectors. I spend a great deal of time traveling, talking with people, sitting at auctions and waiting in line at estate sales to find these pieces. Some of the items are "farm fresh" and some I have had in my possession for years and time to let others enjoy. Please make sure this item is what you want before bidding. If you would like different pictures or have concerns on damage, on whether it is repainted or repaired ask before bidding. If I can find out, I will. These are antiques so expect them not to be "perfect".
